New Years Eve and New Resolutions

Increase Business 1 min read

Here are a few tips to ensure you stay on track with your new years resolution.

#1 Don't Make One. Instead, commit internally to the transformation you envision and take action toward it every day. No Need To Announce it.

#2 Don't Bite Off More Than You Can Chew At Once. Try this test to judge your "Discomfort Tolerance."

If you can stand in the nice warm shower and turn the handle to cold - ALL THE WAY TO THE COLDEST SETTING (not luke-warm )- AND THEN stand there for an additional 5 minutes to gain all the benefits of a Cold Shower/Plunge (google it, you'll be surprised), then you will not be fooling yourself about your ability to do anything you set your mind to. If, on the other hand, you are like me and you discover this is not as easy as it seems on the surface, this inner conflict is your reality. Now you are aware of your "internal resistance" to experiencing the "discomfort of change." Don't despair, there's hope...

#3. If you tried the cold shower handle turn test, and noticed it was a little more difficult than you had envisioned when just reading it, then I'd present to you this concept.

Gaining greater self control and leverage on our ability to experience a little discomfort now for a future advantage/reward is the highest leverage focal point we should be working on at all times.

Step 1. Accepting (and realizing) there is no magic push button solution that solves anything worth achieving, is step one.
Step 2. Consistent & daily action toward achieving any goal you desire is step two.

Anything and Everything beyond developing that one "strength" in our "identity" (who and what we are) I consider a bonus.

Happy New Year!
